A chance encounter at a grocery shop brought together Helena Locke and D. Arclyte. He bumped into her with his arms full of frozen dinners, and as he knelt to pick them up, he looked up and saw Helena looking down at him with a look that pierced his soul, and he was lost. Helena had seen and used many men such as D. Arclyte, but there was something different about him. She invited him back to her lair and proceeded to test him to see if he was capable of enduring her ways.
